Confusing the facts at Time Magazine: Feminist the worst VP ever!

Time Magazine recently ran a series of article on who they think are the worst Vice Presidents in history. Once more, political correctness steps in and distorts history. Their first choice was Aaron Burr. They identify the duel with Hamilton and the trial for his invasion of Mexico as reasons for his receiving this honor.

Bear in mind, that in those days, the Vice President was the candidate who received fewer votes than the other candidate running for President. It took 36 rounds of voting before Jefferson was elected President and Burr Vice President.

The argument with Hamilton occurred after Hamilton accused him of wanting to take the State of New York out of the Union with a secession measure. Since Hamilton was a strong central government fan, he saw secession or even the threat of secession as “anathema.” Secession was a fighting word for Hamilton. The two dueled in New Jersey, since the New York laws regarding dueling did not apply there. Since they were citizens of New York, the laws of New Jersey would not be applicable to them. (Back in those days, they understood the sovereign rights of States.)He was acquitted of the charges related to the duel.

Burr believed that men and women were intellectual equals and admired the writer Mary Wollstencraft. He even had her portrait hung in his home.

He arranged to lease some land in Texas through the help of Baron de Bastrop. His plan was to settle the land. This was the same Baron de Bastrop that later helped Stephen F. Austin. Burr has also been working with the adventurer Philip Nolan in learning more about Texas and making plans for it. Burr assembled his group and was stopped before reaching Texas by General James Wilkinson, (a Spanish spy) who produced forged copies of documents then used as evidence against Burr in his trial. (Although Time makes it sound like Burr wanted his own empire, Wilkinson did have his own private army and own private army base at Contonment Wilkinson). The court saw through the forgeries and dismissed the charges against Burr.

Time has not done their homework. For an early feminist to be labeled as the worst Vice President solely based on being charged with crimes is ludicrous. Clinton was accused, and other high officials have been accused of crimes as well. It seems that the jury at Time Magazine knows better that the US courts that looked into the matter at the time.

This is another example of how important it is to KNOW SOUTHERN HISTORY!. When you know your history, you will not be so easily bamboozled by the propagandists in the main stream media.

When politicians won’t leave office

What do you do when politicians won’t leave office? In 1874, this was a major issue in Texas. After the people had elected a governor, the former governor would not leave office. In responding to the crisis, there were armed citizens taking to the streets of Austin. Both sides armed themselves in responding to the crisis.

In those days, even the Democrats carried guns. Since it was after the war, it was considered dangerous for the Confederate veterans to carry weapons on the streets of Austin. The Republicans also had guns and even commandeered a canon located on the grounds of the State capitol. Private contract bodyguards were used to keep the illegal governor in office. In dealing with the situation, the race card and late night black bag ops were used in responding to the situation. Eventually, after his guards abandoned him, the Republican governor stepped down.

What can we learn from this?

1. Politicians do not always abide by the law.

2. Politicians can not be counted on to do the right thing.

3. Under dire circumstances, even Democrats will arm themselves.

4. The race card is nothing new in politics and is often used in an eploitative manner.

5. Whatever is done by force or in disregard of the law is not truly settled -(Jefferson Davis).

There are many lessons to be learned by reviewing how situations were handled in the past. Since people are creatures of habit, we can learn from previous situations as to how to handle present day situations.

The heroes we know little about

In considering Southern history, President Jefferson Davis is often a name that come to mind. He led the Southern nation during the time of war. His speeches talked about States Rights and the desire to be left alone. Although he talked about such matters, the men who lived by their convictions on the issue were Governors Joseph Brown of Georgia, Pendleton Murrah of Texas and Zebulon Vance of North Carolina. These men took stands for their States, even when it meant going against the central government. Davis talked States Rights, but during the course of the war, succumbed to the power of the centralized State.

Had the war ended more favourably, these Governors would be considered the founding fathers of States Rights. They not only talked it, they lived it. When they did live it, the ideas they espoused took root. In Texas, many troops would only serve out of the State when Governor Murrah gave orders to do so. The authority of the central government was not enough to entice them out of the State.

When the nation is returned to us, the examples of how these men governed will be useful to study. Their policies and thinking are living laboratoris of how true States Rights works.

Regime double-standards

The leader of the current regime stated Russia has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century,” Although he was addressing the situation in South Ossetia. The same logic could be applied to the South. “The United States has invaded a sovereign neighboring state and threatens a democratic government elected by its people. Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century”. The United States occupation of the sovereign nation of the Confederate States of America is unacceptable in whatever century it continues.

Here is another snippet that can also be said of the South.“The Russian government must reverse the course it appears to be on and accept this peace agreement as a first step toward solving this conflict,” Bush said, adding that he is deeply concerned that Russia, which Georgian officials say has effectively split their country in two, might bomb the civilian airport in the capital of Tbilisi.

In the case of the south, it would read “The United States government must reverse the course it appears to be on and accprt this peace agreement as a first step toward ending this conflict,” The head of the regime continued adding that he is deeply concerned that the United States, which US officials say has effectively split their country in two, might bomb the civilian capital of Richmond (or Atlanta, –oh, but they burned Atlanta already, and Richmond, Columbia and Jackson…). Recall that many of the Southern State capitals were burned or severely damaged during the war. Recall that US naval ships opened fire on civilians at Port Lavaca, Indianola, Galveston, Corpus Christi and Chattanooga. Before condemning Russia, the United States has some skeletons in its own closet that need tending to.

The current path of the empire is one filled with hypocrisy.  They support the independence of Kosovo, yet want the nation of South Ossetia crushed. They want Russia out of South Ossetia, yet they refuse to leave the Southern States they have occupied since 1865. The regime panders to China, while ignoring the occupation and takeover of Tibet. While China is pandered to, the empire rattles sabres with Russia over South Ossetia which was being reconstructed by Georgia in order to remove ethnic differences between Osseitans and Georgians (propbably in the name of multiculturalism).

Free Texas of these double-standards!

PS-Although John McCain has claimed to speak for “all” Americans by claiming that we are all Georgians and all support Georgia,..he does not speak for me and many others who value liberty and independence, who value the rule of law, who value sovereign nations. Occupation of sovereign nations by oppressors is not respected in the South. Bullies are not liked in America or abroad. John McCain does not speak for America, he speaks for the military-industrial complex.

South Ossetia parallels with War of Northern Aggression

South Ossetia Flag

How should the world respond to South Ossetia? The region declared its independence from Georgia. NATO did not recognize its declaration of independence. Although between 98-99% of the people supported the declaration of independence, the world refused to acknowledge its independence. The nation of Georgia has been attempting to turn the South Ossetian ethnic group into Georgians. The native language and ways are discouraged in the schools. Southrons know what it is like to have their culture ridiculed, their language made fun of, and have their culture demeaned.

Much is being made of how the military is turning weapons on civilians. The Yankee troops did that to the Southern people, and the world ignored the cries of our people. Cities were emptied of their residents. Women were systematically raped, and homesteads ravaged in the name of war. Her in Texas, Corpus Christi and other coastal cities were bombarded systematically. The United States had not approved the Geneva Convention at the time, so they could not be held to a civilized standard of behavior for their actions.

In another parallel, the Georgian troops attacked in the middle of the night, killing peacekeepers and native residents of the region in an action similar to the midnight mass murders conducted by John Brown in Kansas.

In another parallel, the United States used what amounted to mercenary troops from Europe to invade the South. The United States also used foreign advisers during the war like Guissipe Garibaldi. Georgia is using the mercenary group Blackwater along with US advisers in their aggression.

The Southern culture knows first hand what it is like to have civilians attacked by  military invaders.  How is it the empire supports the indepence of Kosovo, which is not legitimate, where in South Ossetia, the people legitimatley voted for secession?

How well do you know your Texas history?

img_5999.JPGHow well do you know your Texas history? Over the weekend, I learned some new facts that had previously escaped me. The oldest Confederate monument in Texas is located in Sherman, Texas. It is located on north side of the Grayson County Courthouse. It consists of a Confederate soldier mounted atop a column with inscriptions around the base. The inscriptions address how the war was a ‘holy cause’ . There were also plaques commemorating the accomplishments of the 7th and 11th Texas cavalry regiments. Both units accomplished some amazing feats and had a heritage to be proud of.  Was it also by chance that the courthouse also contained the Biblical admonition the “Righteousness exalteth a nation”?

There were plaques commemorating Teddy Roosevelt’s visit to the city. Since he was the first to visit the city, there was a great deal of celebration over it. What was not told was that the commander of the Rough Riders, who Roosevelt was associated with was former Confederate cavalry General Joseph Wheeler.Wheeler had led the 11th cavalry during the closing campaigns of the war. Knowing this about Wheeler, throws the big celebration into a new light.

Is it any wonder that when I searched for more information on Google, the only thing that comes up is the Yankee statue located elsewhere in the city. Many have forgotten their history and their heritage. In the other parts of the town, there were numerous artists galleries and music venues. It was rare to find a shopkeeper who was not festooned with tattoos.I thought it made a striking contrast to the part of Denison I had just visited.

On a humorous note, I had one experience that I found intriguing.  When I ventured to another part of Denison, there was a bookstore with a section devoted to the “proud heritage of the illustrious Irish people” located right next to a section devoted to “the limey bastards”. Popular sentiment made them take down the limey comments, but it tells me that there is still some life in the Sherman/Denison. Will we be seen as having a proud heritage or be grouped with the bastards of history?

Wars and rumors of wars…

The news of conflict between Georgia and Russia yesterday was concerning. At the start of the week, the empires troops were conducting military exercises, including naval exercises. with them and by the end of the week, they are at war with the Russians. Similar exercises were conducted in the Ukraine a few weeks prior. Perhaps the timing is ironic, or perhaps it is was to provoke. Anyway you slice it, the timing is VERY suspicious.

My understanding at the present time is that the regime of the empire is supporting Georgia. Further support for Georgia is coming from Israel. Having troops massing in that part of the world, with Iran so close is like throwing gasoline on a fire.  Russia is supposedly supporting a secessionist group trying to leave the nation. It is difficult to determine if that is their real reason or if it is to justify positioning tanks and planes near Iran. I also wonder if the empire is using Georgia as an attempt to block Russia from coming in the back door of Iran, who knows.?

Our Heavenly father told us that there would be wars and rumors of wars. The President who was from Dennison, Texas but did not claim Texas (Eisenhower), warned us about the military industrial complex and the dangers of it growing too large. Is it large enough for you? How many more of your children will it use up or require in its quest for empire? When I attend dinner parties and fights break out, it is usually a time to leave. When will you be ready to leave this party?
