Now that the heat is being turned up in the upcoming elections, a question that comes to mind is “Will the people remember what their CONgress Critters have done?” My CONgress critter, Nick Lampson was joined by Lloyd Doggett and Bernice Johnson in passing measures to honor Islam and Ramadan when it was only a few year ago that Texans were being beat up in Iran when the hostages were taken. I guess they forgot the hospitality given to the hostages in the Hotel Iran. Nick also wanted to ban incandescent light bulbs, send aid to Iraqi children in HR1, sell weapons to Venezuela, and support of the hate crimes act.
Remember that Lloyd Doggett is a STRONG advocate of gun control, along with voting to keep the marriage penalty in place. Although places like Bastrop and Gonzales are in his district, he ignores the heritage and wishes of those constituents. Bastrop (Mexia) was the first Texas city to declare independence, Gonzales rose up against their Mexican oppressors over gun control. I guess Doggett has ignored his history and who he represents. Doggett also voted for the empire to take control of water, children’s education and to force us to use those gosh-awful, poisonous CFL light bulbs. Although the communities along the San Marcos and Colorado rivers are in his district, do they realize that he is trying to give away rights to the waterways?
Doggett talks about being environmentally friendly, but the reality of his support for CFL bulbs puts poison like Mercury in Texas homes. These are not the values of Texas or the people of Texas that he purportedly represents.
Although Nick Lampson’s ads attack Pete Olsen for moving around and voting in different states, no one seems to question how a large portion of Nick Lampson’s money comes from out of state. It seems he is financed from sources outside of Texas. Another major contributor is lawyers. Do we need more of this kind of stuff?
He also focuses on what he did to help with Hurricane Ike relief. Yes, he helped arrange for a government information intake center. This did little to improve the efficiency of the bureaucracy or get aid directly to the victims. He did rub elbows with the victims of Shoreacres at a local festival, but little help came from the government if you were a renter or or good steward of your situation. He also racked up $40 million in pork barrel projects for his district. Despite all his work at expanding government buracracy at a regional level, the victims of Ike had little to show for it.
Remember also the meddling that various CONgress critters did in Jena, Lousisiana. Remember how Shiela Jackson Lee decided to do some extra negotiating with that socialist regime.
It helps to remember what the hired help did during their term. Did they advance Southern freedoms? Did they improve your quality of life? Did they take stands for what was right? I know that John Culberson worked toward increasing freedoms, yet there are few that can claim that designation. He openly spoke out against ACORN getting a hand out with the bailouts that have been passed.
Remember before you vote.
Free Texas!
