The topic of heritage is a timely one being that Father’s Day is coming up. One way to think of heritage is to consider it akin to the family reputation of a people. Much like families want to preserve a good name, from father to son and from generations past to generations future, so do nations and people. A ‘true’ nation is one where the people maintain a common language, culture, and history. Empires consists of groups of nations that are bounded together under a common ruler. The southern nation is a true nation, the United States is an empire.
Even in its symbolism from the memorial to King Abraham I to CONgress, you will see the Roman fasces. This is the symbol of the many sticks being bound together with an attached axe. It is a symbol of power. It is a symbol of empire. It was the symbol of the Italian Fascisti. It is the same symbol that adorns so much of the imperial capitol.
We as a southern nation, need to remember out heritage and preserve it. This means preserving the history, the values, and culture of our fore bearers. We need to give honour to whom honour is due, such as President Jefferson Davis and other notable leaders from our past. (BTW, the 200th anniversary of his birth is being celebrated this weekend in Fairview, Kentucky). Now is a good time to consider the values of these men and women and work toward preserving them rather than surrendering them to the multi-cultural polyglot that is being foisted upon us.
Do we want the values exemplified by the McCain’s and the Clinton’s with their immoral infidelities? Do we want the Marxist/socialist vision of Obama, which our fore-fathers fought against in the war? Recall that many of the Union generals were socialists and communists. They were not marginally so, many were friends with Karl Marx and Frederick Engles themselves. Obama and his followers idealize Che and other socialists. Our fathers resisted socialism and its followers in 1861. It is time for us to resist it in 2008. The forced acceptance of immoral lifestyles is not freedom, it is totalitarianism, it is wickedness. Empires have fallen who embraced such wickedness.
We need a return to the values of our fathers. We need a return to knowing right from wrong and being courageous enough to speak out about it. We need a return to one man-one woman marriages where commitment and responsibility are valued. Today’s modern culture often bails when the going gets tough and when they bail, they leave not only marriages and families, they leave behind the values and character that are so desperately needed in today’s world.
As father’s day approaches consider what values and heritage you want your children to have. Then do something about passing on those values to them.

I’m no socialist but I think the American image of socialism is a tad skewed. In England socialism is simply about the state helping out the poor. It is not communism or Marxism. I find it hard to see how aspects like the NHS (free health care) and the welfare system (money given to unemployed, disabled etc.) are wicked.
I’ve never quite understood, if in America you require health care but can not afford it what recourse to you have apart from staying home and dieing? Surely if the role of the state is to protect its residents, that means everyone not just those with money?
What you could possibly call wicked is the fact that we are taxed “against our will” for these measures. However although the present taxes are unjustly high and ought to be reduced the principle is still good (Just the present party has messed up the implementation).
This is because it is in everyone’s interests to eradicate poverty - this will lead to a decrease in crime and an increase in the economy.
