Myths of the Empire-Pt. 3

Judge Napolitano recently authored the book, A Nation of Sheep. The book exposes some of the hard realities of the occupational government.

This book underlies the myth-We have freedom of speech in America. He exposes how the American people have become sheep and how we are not allowed to speak out on some topics concerning the government. He dares to speak out, which not many people do these days.

When discussing the period of the war, there were some items that needed to added. One is that all those pictures of Americana that show the houses waving the American flag were because in the Union, the government required the people to display the flag. So they are waving the flag, not due to a spontaneous display of patriotism, but rather in response to an oppressive government.

In the recording of Judge Napolitano, there are references to Maryland, et. In Maryland, the Feds locked up the legislators, journalists and other in a crack-down. One of those locked up was the grandson of Francis Scott Key. The heavy handed crackdown also included convents. The sister of Raphael Semmes was FORBIDDEN to pray for her brother who was serving in the Confederate navy. It is one thing to do things for political expediency, it is another to repress peoples freedom to pray.

Given the government did what they did once before, the precedent exists to do it again.

Myths of the Empire-part 2: Humbug!

In the second part of the series on myths, we will look at the cause of the War Between the States. Whole books have been written on the topic, so I will limit my focus to a smaller portion. The myth is often floated that the war was about slavery. With such a myth, the Union takes the higher moral ground and appears noble in their efforts. Such stories make for creating a sense of noble actions. The truth is far from that picture.

One person who saw through the myth is Charles Dickens. When the war broke out , he wrote, “The Northern onslaught upon slavery was nothing more than a piece of specious humbug designed to conceal its desire for economic control of the South” . (His use of “humbug”, now gives a whole new meaning to “bah! Humbug!. Think about it-the word was used by its originator to express disbelief and disingenuous in the myths of the empire. ) Dickens wrote this prior to the Emancipation Proclamation, which means he saw through things even before slavery was ‘officially’ declared an issue. Dickens knew that the real cause of the war was money, “The quarrel between North and South, is as it stands, solely a fiscal quarrel”. His contemporary, Karl Marx viewed the war as a class struggle and a chance to eliminate Christianity from the world scene. Marx often sent congratulatory letters to Lincoln on his actions. Lincoln also saw to it that many of Karl Marx’s communist friends who fled from Europe after the 1848 uprisings were employed in the US Army. The ranks of officers was filled with many communists, not to mention the Pinkerton’s and their communist associations. In many ways, the actions of McCarthy and Martin Dies were 80 years too late. The ranks of the military and government were already filled to the brim with bona fide communists by the 1860’s.

Lincoln himself knew the war was about money. In the days leading up to Fort Sumter, he main concern was “Who will collect my tariffs?”. In his inauguration speech of 1861 he vowed not to touch slavery. Like the typical politician, he went back on his word and before his first term ended, he went against his campaign promise.

It was only when the Union morale was low and in the wake of some defeats that the term “In God we trust” was accepted. The Union needed something to make it appear as though God was on their side. The use of the phrase was not a statement of religious commitment, it was propaganda put out by a war machine.

So the myths are 1) The war was about slavery, 2) That the war (as fought by the Union) was noble, 3) The military has never been communist/The Cold War was the first American war against communism.

Myths of the Empire-part 1

In order to maintain its status, the empire and its regime needs the people to believe myths. These myths legitimize their power and status. I have been considering putting together a list of the top 10 myths of the American Empire. A story today underscores the timeliness of the topic. In a recent interview, President Bush came out and stated that Christians and Muslims pray to the same God. This is blasphemy at its finest. In Scripture we are told that there is ONLY one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ. When Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life, all the other options were shut out. So the American people are faced with the choice of who is right Jesus or George W. Bush, they are forced to choose which god they will serve, whether the God of the Bible or the god of the United States.

Could we expect less than blasphemy from a leader who bowed himself to idols when visiting Japan? We are dealing with an idolater here. To an idolater, all gods are the same.  So in one sense he is telling the truth about himself. Many of the American myths have a strange blend of truth and untruth in them, which like Bush’s statement, makes them poisonous.

The whole ‘god of Bush’ story involves two American myths.

1. America is a Christian nation. Many of the founding fathers were Christians, yet the government has enacted policies that are blatantly non-Christian. The adage by their fruits ye shall know them reveal it is not a Christian nation. Some of the blatant non-Christian policies include-legalization of sodomy, legalization of abortion, persisting in unjust wars, banning Christian symbols, torturing prisoners, insisting on US flags being placed in houses of worship, removing prayer from schools, the leader proclaiming that all gods are equal and banning Bible reading from space. It is one thing if such issues were a matter of interpretation of Scriptures, but these are blatantly wicked.

Although the government is definitely not Christian, even though remnants of the Christian faith are part of the rituals (e.g. swearing in on the Bible), such gestures are purely symbolic to appease the people. Many of the people are Christian in their orientation and culture. People want to believe we are a Christian nation. There are many Christians among the people, but having large numbers of a particular faith does not make the government of that faith.  The kingdoms of Israel and Judah had many kings that were pagan in their beliefs, yet the kingdom was referred to as Jewish, even though the leaders had departed from the faith.

2. All men are created equal. The founding fathers intended this to be a statement that the people were equal in the eyes of the law. It was never intended to level the people in terms of ability or responsibility. Science has proven people are not all equal. There are varying levels of abilities and talents. Men are not created equal. They never were and never will be. It is a variation of this idea that all men are created equal that Bush extends to religions, by taking the stance that they are all equal as well. Much like all men are not equal, all religions are not equal. The idea of all religions being equal is a New Age idea that all religions have equal validity and take you to the same place. They are not all equal and the end result take the believer to far different places. Although people do not like discussing such matters openly, it is true. The notion that all men are created equal has been used as a mantra to level the playing field and remove the natural advantages that some people have.

When people believe these myths as true they become a dogma. That dogma makes it difficult to deal with them in a rational manner. They will chant the mantra and ignore what is being said. The dogma will taint and distort any truth that comes their way. The dogma becomes a set of blinders to keep them from seeing the reality around them and the options open to them.

The League want to preserve a culture that is truly Christian in its orientation. A culture that values life, family and liberty. A culture that works with the differences in the abilities of people. A culture and that expects more out of the responsible and helps those with lesser abilities. A nation that respects private property with allodial titles and removal of the death tax. A nation that adheres to its national boundaries and demands other respect them as well. A nation that is not ashamed to call out to and worship its God. A nation will will not hide God’s word. A nation that allows houses of worship to truly worship without demanding the flag of the State be in the sanctuary. A nation that is not ashamed of Jesus. The League has a plan, and we are working toward it.

Thinking through the citibank deal

And the crowds on Wall Street cheered how Abu Dhabi invested $7.5 billion into Citibank. When I see so much hype, I often wonder what is really going on. Think through this one folks. Abu Dhabi.. where have you heard that name before? How about the port deal. People reacted strongly when they discovered Abu Dhabi was purchasing American ports. Now they cheer when the same government purchases a major bank. I wonder what the payoff is. Will Abu Dhabi be given another shot at the ports? Or did the (investment) actually amount to the transfer of $7.5 billion of the banks assets to Abu Dhabi? Could it be that Abu Dhabi just concluded a $7.5 billion dollar land deal and now owns the properties that were used as collateral for the sub-prime episode in the first place? Although the articles talk about paper-the paper in question is backed by property. Would Wall Street and Main Street cheer knowing that their homes are now ultimately owned by Abu Dhabi?

I do not understand how people cheer that another nation just purchased important assets. Whatever the bank used as collateral, they now own. We have just seen a tremendous transfer of wealth to a foreign nation and the people cheered. The big corporations just sold out a lot of Americans and the people cheered.

Remember that part of the problem started with the banks loaning money to people whose credit was less than ideal. The bank made bad loans secured by property that is now owned by a company that owns many American ports.

So we have Abu Dhabi owning ports, Spain owning toll roads and infrastructure in Texas and now a major bank is being sold to Abu Dhabi.  This looks more like a garage sale where someone is getting ready to move out of town. (BTW, remember the Tyrant purchased a large tract of land in South America a few years back).

Make no mistake…The borrower is servant to the lender. After financial bondage will come political bondage. Abu Dhabi now owns many peoples’ assets. Abu Dhabi now has more political clout. The people with loans do not realize it but now they are under the authority of Abu Dhabi. Had Abu Dhabi just wanted to purchase a large percentage of an American bank, would the President and CONgress allow it? Under previous circumstances, probably not.

It is also odd how all this occurs during the Annapolis negotiations. The Empire tells Israel they must give up land (which is none of our government’s business anyway), and Abu Dhabi gets a major share in an American bank—coincidence? There are no coincidences in politics. The deal had been in the making and the government had already approved it before it was announced. Ironically it was Robert Rubin, former Secretary of the Treasury under Clinton who concluded the deal. Clinton considered him the greatest Secretary of the Treasury since Alexander Hamilton. (Consider that Alexander Hamilton loved strong centralized government. He was Statist to the core. Hamilton was a fan of the imperial government-nuff said?).

Perhaps the Abu Dhabi guys are just good businessmen. With the falling values of the dollar, what else were they going to do with those they had on hand?

What does this have to do with Southern Independence? It is another example of how the Empire and Big corporations are joined together in advancing their agenda in disregard of sovereignty.  It is an example of how banks reward irresponsible behavior and then make the people suffer. Debt is one of the things that the Empire has used to force the States together. Debt is part of what makes it difficult to secede. It was debt that made England hesitant to acknowledge the Independence of Texas after it won freedom from Mexico. Part of the chain that holds the States in the Union is debt. Every State will be expected to pay its portion of the debt. Recall that one of the actions of the 14th amendment was the repudiation of the Confederate debt. The government knew that if that debt was not paid, it would de-legitimize the south. Debt is part of what legitimizes a government.

Before you celebrate and shout cheers about the Citibank deal, consider what went down. The story is being spun so that Abu Dhabi are now good guys. Think through the fact that $7.5 billion in goods were just transferred to Abu Dhabi.

Free the South from such financial bondage.

What do the Presidents of Texas and Russia have in common?

President Vladamir Putin and President Anson Jones of Texas have a lot in common. In a recent news story, the President of Russia expressed concern that the United States was interfering in an upcoming Russian election. Once again, in a situation that is NONE of the business of the Empire, the tyrant and his cronies are meddling in the affairs of other nations. What does this have to do with the Republic of Texas? President Anson Jones expressed concern that the US was meddling in the affairs of the sovereign Republic of Texas when a vote important to the US was coming up. There were attempts to delay foreign dignitaries and prevent couriers from carrying messages to important officials. Jones expressed concern that agents of the United States were attempting to bribe Congressmen and purchase their votes. History has proven that his concerns were well founded. Even a Republic military leader was bribed in the activities that transpired.

Russia should not be surprised with the meddling. The Empire has a long history of meddling in the affairs of other nations. US troops were running a protection racket for Mexican smugglers who were trespassing through the Republic of Texas. When the case went to court, the US had to pay damages to Texas for their illegal actions. They did not respect national sovereignties then and they continue in that pattern. It is as if the US operates on “it is better to ask forgiveness than permission” mentality.

If you had never heard of how the US meddled with Texas affairs, then consider buying a copy of Texans Always Move Them: A True History of Texas. They also make wonderful Christmas gifts. You can either spend hours and days researching history or buy the book. If your time is worth a lot, purchasing the book is a wonderful idea. The volume is full of stories such as the one about President Jones.  There are also accounts of intrigue on the high seas with the Texas Navy, and how Texas contributed to the American Revolution.

Knowing the truth is the first step to gaining freedom. The second is to get out of debt.

Dabney: The Antidote for Hillary’s village idiot mentality

The education post seemed to elicit responses, so I thought I would follow it up with another post on education. Robert L. Dabney who taught at the University of Texas, when it was still known for morals and quality education made some poignant observations observations on education. If we still had Robert L. Dabney’s at the University, there would not have been Ray Marshalls and government education plans of his ilk.

-The Government has no mission from God to make the community; on the contrary, the community should make the Government.

-There can be, therefore no true education without moral culture, and no moral culture without Christianity.

-To educate the mind without purifying the heart is but to “place a sharp sword in the hand of a madman.”

-The only communities which have had their characters manufactured for them by their government have had a villainously bad character-like the Chinese and the Yankees. Noble races make their governments: ignoble ones are made by them.

-So far is it from being true that the civil authority is entitled to shape a people to suit itself; the opposite is true, the people should shape the civil authority.

Dabney’s ideas run contrary to the modern idea that it is the government’s job to shape the minds and the culture of the future generations. It also runs contrary to the idea that people can be educated to be good without God and Christianity in the schools. When prayer was removed along with Christian influence, what happened? Did the schools become safer? Did the moral quality of the people increase? On the contrary, the incidents of crime increased. Dabney’s insight about education without morals turning people into educated madmen with weapons is an apt description of what occurred with many of the school shootings. Dabney was no prophet. He merely observed people, culture, and the times in which they lived.

Dabney addressed many issues in his writings. He mentioned how that modern ideas often have to be countered with the old remedies. He recognised that many of the modern ideas are nothing more than repackaged old ones. It would help any Southron to familarise themselves with Dabney in order to counter the modern educational theories that advocate more government involvement. He knew what more involvement from a godless government would do, which we see in the schools of today. There are many teachers trying to do their best, yet find themselves handicapped by administrative policies and government regulations that have turned their jobs into indoctrination rather than education.

Dabney knew what government was supposed to be. “The functions of the general government were to be few and defined, its expenditures modest, and its burderns in time of peace light”. This is a far cry from the Occupational Yankee  government of today. Dabney called them like he saw them, “This is the very signature of despotism, that the citizen’s mondy is taken to bribe agents for the suppressing of the citizen’s will”. Do we not see our money being taken from us to pay for the very instruments and agencies that focus on suppressing free thought and action? Look at the recent acts passed by Congress, like HR 1955 and you will see a vivid illustration of Dabney’s statement. We need Dabney to give us a taste of sanity against the mental illness political correctness running rampant in Congress and the Senate.

Educational systems: Lessons from Germany

It often astounds me how critics of the South often make comparisons of the South with Germany. When this happens, it is often a way of distracting the audience from the real issues going on. it is another case of “Ignore the man behind the curtain”.

The upcoming primaries and election season are a good time to review this comparison. For the sake of simplicity, the comparison will be limited to education. In Nazi Germany, the professors and instructors had no control over the course content. or graduation examinations. Those were decided by the central government. The central government also controlled admission policy to the colleges as well. In America, who controls the course content? Is it the local districts or the central authority? Who actually decides admission policies? Are students admitted on the basis of ability or on the basis of some diversity mix? The similarities are frightening. These systems and structures are based on German models.

The idealization of the Nazi-Germany educational system runs rampant through Marc Tucker’s 1992 book, Thinking for a Living: Education and the Wealth of Nations (which he wrote with Ray Marshall-a professor from the University of Texas of all places). Marc Tucker is famous for his letter to Hillary Clinton where he extolled his education plan. He was close to Hillary then and in all likelihood will be close again. Keep in mind that Hillary was part of the panel making the suggestions for this educational plan. Unless she has had a change of heart, the old plan may be making a comeback in another form. Marc Tucker has recently published another book (2006), with a reworked plan. It is filled with international standards, UN control,  and No Child Left Behind.

What is scary is that there are many Democrats working at putting his plan in place piece by piece. Do they realize that this is almost a carbon copy of Nazi-Germany’s educational system?

Tucker’s first book lays out a horrid plan of highly centralized controlled schools. (I have included page numbers for reference to Tucker’s book). These new schools have families under their authority (p. 165), and praise those who threaten to remove children of uncooperative families (p. 185). Part of the plan involves universal health care (p. 241), the restructuring of the income tax to remove exemptions for dependent children (p. 172), forced immunizations, adhering to international standards (p. 126), removing all rules in the schools except for those related to health, safety and civil rights (p. 126). Many of Tucker’s ideas come from comparisons of the German education system of the 1930’s, when Germany was gearing up for war and in the throes of Nazi takeover.

If you want someone who idealizes German ways, it is not the South, with its emphasis on personal responsibility, family orientation, Biblical morals and self-reliance. Those who seek strong central planning are the ones who mimic the German structures that transformed that nation. Sadly, many of these structures are in place and efforts are under way to put the other items in place. Rather than demonize Southrons, the public needs to remember history, look at the facts and see where the real dangers lie. The Clinton administration was a danger before, and another would be more dangerous since they know how to gain power and put programs in place.

Fox News on Blogs-They are biased!

Fox News has actually recently discovered that there is bias on blogs. If there was ever a pot calling the kettle black, this is it. It seems that it is acceptable for the media to have bias, but heaven forbid if the common man dares to speak out or voice opinions that are not ’scripted’.
