In a follow up to previous diatribes, some of the CONgress critters grew some spinal material and voted to call the Turkish killing of Armenian Christians in 1915 a ‘genocide’. It seems that some of them do the right things some of the time. The action taken in the House Foreign Affairs Committee upset the Turkish government. When people are systematically killed in such manners, what else can you call it but a genocide.
What does this have to do with Southern Independence? Speaking out on such issues has to do with standing for what is right. It is speaking for other Christians who were oppressed by their governments. It could well be that the Confederate States of America was the last openly Christian nation in the western hemisphere. We certainly were the last to associate ourselves with the cross and were not ashamed or apologetic about it. I saw parallels between what occurred over there and what was happening here in the occupied south. Although the Turkish government calls itself secular, its agenda over the years its policies have not been. Here in the Empire, there is a move toward greater secularization. Many prefer to the present government as secular and not Christian at all. If that is the case, then the Confederacy was the last Christian government in the west. Just because the Southern armies were defeated does not mean the responsibilities of its peoples have been diminished. We need to continue to persevere until we return to our place at the table of nations.
For Southern Independence!
For Texas Independence!

PS. In the days that followed the original posting, there were many exchanges between CONgress and the tyrant. Nancy Pelosi has since backed down from her support of the measure. and the tyrant. He said, “One thing Congress should not be doing is sorting out the historical record of the Ottoman Empire,” . Excuse me, but one job CONgress has is to debate issues. Although I do not always like what they decide, it is NOT the executive officer’s job to decide such matters. He can recommend that they consider certain topics, but it is up to the legislature to decide what they will address and what they will not. The consideration of whether or not a nation is guilty of genocide is pertinent. It is one of the first moral stands they have made in respect of human life in a LONG time.
