In a recent article, Pat Buchanan addressed the topic of secession in Belgium. There are many issues surrounding this turn of events. The increased invasion of Mohammedeans along with the actions have accelerated the break up process. Among the issues at stake are the desecration of Christian churches by the Mohammedeans, Mohammedean youths stomping a man to death on the bus, and frequent rioting by select groups. There are some movements to bring about solidarity in the crisis, but the mix is too diverse to hold together for long. There is even a book addressing the issue entitled A Throne in Brussles: Britain, the Saxe-Coburgs and the Belgianization of Europe. The author, Paul Belien, has himself been harassed by law enforcement in Belgium for homeschooling his children.
Ironically, this incident rises in the news as the League of the South holds its National Meeting in Chattanooga to coincide the the Secessionist Conference. The people of Flanders should be able to decide whether or not they want to be included with Belgium. The government in Brussels has done little to insure the safety and community of its citizens. The League supports and applauds the sovereign people of Flanders in their efforts at attaining independence.
In other secession news, the island of Nevis continues working toward secession from St. Kitts. There have been marches in protest of current governmental policy along with crack downs on those speaking out against the current St. Kitts regime of Denzil Douglas. Nevis wants independence. Questions about how monies are spent between the two islands are adding to the tensions between the two of them.
As we continue working toward our own secession, the League continues observing secession movements of sovereign peoples in other nations. There are many secession movements including Vermont, Alaska, Hawaii, Scotland, Basque, Tyrol, and Northern Italy.
When nations neglect their duties to operate within Constitutional boundaries and show blatant disregard for the beliefs, culture, language and history of its people the option of secession needs to be considered. In the Empire, the case of Texas vs. White is often cited with the claim that secession is illegal. That case, presided over by Salmon Chase was bogus. The Supreme Court purposely did not address many of the legal issues involved with the case. They never dealt with the whole legality of the illicit annexation of Texas, the illicit land deal of Texas selling off its lands, or a host of other issues. Had Chase and his companions done their homework, they would have discovered that the way Texas seceded was to nullify an act passed by an illegitimate Congress that was operating outside of its Constitutional authority.
Free Texas! If they can do it, why can’t we?
