News reports are filled with coverage of the tyrant-in-chief’s visit to South America. Recall that he recently purchased a 100,000 acres in Paraguay a few months ago.Bush buys 100,000 acres . Could he be buttering up the neighbors before moving in?
In the news about Ethanol, the tyrant is cutting a deal with the Brazilians. Bush cuts deal with Brazil . There are several interesting facets to the deal. 1) He wishes to maintain the tariff on sugar based ethanol at $.54/ gallon. This means that the Feds would get their cut on arrival in the Empire AND at the pumps. My-That is a sweet deal! 2) The corn farmers are up in arms about the deal and see it as a threat to their monopoly on ethanol. What about the oil field working Texans and other Southrons in the Gulf? He is showing his true colors and loyalties. What about all those young men and women whose lives are on the line protecting "vital American interests" in the middle east. Does a deal like this mean that it was all for naught? 3) What about George Washington’s advice to avoid entangling alliances. Granted this is not a military alliance, but rather one based on trade and economics, but it still tangles the politics of the two nations together in a mess. Perhaps his dreams of NAFTA covers the Americas as a whole? 4) What they do not tell you is the massive tax paid by the people of Brazil on vehicles and how that tax is dependent on how many cylinders your vehicle has.
5) Could it be that he is trying to avoid the heat for the recent verdict handed down in the Libby case? The trip makes a convenient distraction. It reminds me of how Clinton often distracted the press from the real issues that he was seeking cover from.
A free South would not need to depend on other nations for its energy needs. A free south would make its money from tariffs, not from income taxes. A free south would not surrender its God-given sovereignty to the whims of businessmen seeking cheap labour. A free South would not have its young men fighting wars of foreign soil for the sake of empire.
Free Dixie! Not Iraq!
