The Yankee Motto

In reading the news this morning, the headline on World Net Daily caught my eye (New US dollar hides In God We Trust ). My 9-year old saw the headline and commented that the US has never trusted God. I was taken aback at first and then reconsidered his statement. Although the phrase "In God We Trust" was added in 1957. Shortly after that, in the early 60’s America took prayer out of schools. Lawsuits were filed after the astronauts read from the Bible on viewing the moon in 1968. The actions of the courts clearly indicate that America has not truly trusted in the God of the Bible. They trust in a God of their own making. The scary thing is the serious consequences involved in taking the Lord’s name in vain (e.g. using it lightly or without respect). Will HE take this affront to HIS name so lightly. Bear in mind that, the motto began during the War of Northern Aggression. It began when the Yankees wanted to drum up support for their cause in the aftermath of the New York riot (THE TRUE civil war). The use of the motto was a calculated war measure. It was a ploy to make the Yankee population believe that what they were involved in was a just and moral cause. It was a mindtrick, and nothing more.

I was told by my grandparents that "The chickens always come home to roost". Well, all the clucking and chatter over the minimizing of the motto, suggest that its getting near roosting time. It is ironic how so many raise such a ruckus about the wanting to maintain the use of God’s name in the pledge and the motto, when those very things are leading to destruction and curses because they handle the name of the Almighty in such a haughty fashion.

I know there are some that say the founding fathers believed in God. Many of them did, and were Bible believing God-fearing people. Yet, some were Deists who did not serve the God of the Bible. A close examination of the references to the Almighty reveal that the  in the early documents, there were many compromises in references to HIM, and none that specifically identifies HIM as the God of the Bible. Check your Constitution and Declaration of Independence and cross reference them with the Confederate Constitution and you will see what I mean. On pondering my sons words, he was correct. "Out of the mouths of babes"…
